Howard Wonders Why Favreau Keeps Screwing Him Over With Iron Man Merch. 09/02/10. 7:50am
Howard said he had this meeting with Tim and he was so proud of that Iron Man and Senator Stern sign he got from Jon Favreau. He said Robin is going to think he’s a terrible person when he tells this story. He told the story about the Jon Favreau thing and how he sent him that toy he ended up giving to Jason. He said that Jon was very appreciative of his support. Howard said he sent him this toy that any idiot can buy in a toy store. Howard said he’s not 4 years old so he wondered why he would send him that. Howard said he complained on the air and Jon ended up sending him this Iron Man mask and the Senator Stern sign from ”Iron Man 2.” He really wasn’t fishing for gifts from the guy.

Howard said the stuff he got from Jon didn’t say it was from the movie. It was very vague. He said he figured it was rare stuff he got. He wrote him a thank-you note and sent him a picture of the display and all of that. He said he got a note back from Jon and he told him that the eyes light up and stuff. He said he didn’t even know that. Howard said Jon sent him the letter and clarified about exactly what he got. The Senator Stern thing was on camera and the mask was a prop for the movie. He said they added the lights to it but there are only a few of these in existence. Howard said that it still sounds very vague to him. He said it still sounds important to him.

Howard said he figured Ralph would be jealous. He emailed him a picture of the mask and Ralph got back to him. Ralph said ”welcome to the club” and he figured he was jealous. Then he sent back a picture and he was looking at the Iron Man head but it wasn’t his book shelf. It turns out that Ralph has one exactly like it. Howard said he is so disgusted that he’s going to take that head and throw it out the window. Howard said he wanted Ralph to be jealous and he has the same, stupid, Iron Man head.

Jason said that the head is a cheap, plastic thing. Howard said that’s what he has. Jason said his toy’s eyes light up too. Jason said if it’s the same thing then it is just a shitty plastic thing. He said that Ralph may have gotten his from the people at Paramount. Howard said that he can’t believe that everyone has one. He’s getting rid of his if that’s the case.

Howard asked why Favreau does this to him. Robin said that he’s getting a lot of attention from him on this. Howard said he’s done with Favreau now. He said he can’t let him direct ”Footless” after all of this. Howard said Jon explained to him that this wasn’t from the movie and now he sees what it really is. Howard said that it did seem like a piece of shit and it turns out it was.

Ralph called in and told Howard that his is actually better. He said that his is made from the mold. Ralph’s is made by a company that does replicas. Ralph said that Howard’s is made from the actual molds that they used for the movie. He said that’s why it’s better. Ralph said his is made of metal but the one Howard has is better even though it’s made of plastic.

Howard said now his sounds more valuable than Ralph’s. Howard read Favreau’s note again and it sounds like it could have been used in the movie if they had broken some other ones. Howard said he thinks that they just had a bunch made up for shlubs like him. Howard said that it is a prop and not a commercial piece. He said that they have a magnetic neck piece on this thing that allows the stunt doubles to wear them.

Gary told Howard that Favreau emailed him too and he thinks that he either doesn’t have access to that stuff or he doesn’t want to give it up. Howard said he doesn’t want anything… but if you’re going to send something, you’d think it would be something really cool. Howard said he doesn’t want something that Ralph has. Howard said that this isn’t something that was in the movie. He said he’d prefer that he not have anything. He said that he displayed the note along with the helmet and desk sign. He said that he wants some authentication and that’s what he has. Howard said he’s all shook up from this and he wasn’t able to say ”authentication.” He was saying ”authentication.”

Ralph said that the desk sign was in the movie though. He said that’s going to be his disclaimer when he says the helmet wasn’t in the movie.

Howard said he couldn’t believe when he got the picture from Ralph. He said he even has a special stand for his. Howard said he has to figure out how to make the eyes light up on his helmet. Ralph said he’ll help him out with that when he comes over.

Howard said he was showing that head off to Tim and now he realizes it’s not even in the movie. Robin said that Jon is going to have to find some other piece of junk to send to him. Howard said when you buy a Picasso you don’t buy a replica of it. He said he wants Robert Downey Jr’s head hanging in his house. Robin said she went to a house and this guy had a Terminator replica in his house. She said she was wondering if it was real but she figures it isn’t now.

Howard said he took that picture of his helmet and he realized that next to it was a pile of books about him. He said he had pictures of himself and things like that there too. He had to take the picture so he wouldn’t see all of that stuff so he wouldn’t look so shallow. Howard said he wanted to look more intellectual so he put some other books there to cover them up. He had the bible next to it instead.

Howard took a call from a guy who said he should post a picture so the fans can see it. Howard said he’ll send the picture of the fake head so they can see that. Howard sent the picture to Jason so he can post it on HowardStern.com. Jason said it may take a while if everyone goes to the site right now. Howard said there’s no rush to get on the site.

Howard said this whole thing is a disaster and Favreau has to stop sending him stuff. Howard told Jason to get that picture up in one minute. Jason said he’d do that.

Howard said he had that Paul McCartney guitar at his apartment too. That’s just a replica too and Paul never even played it. Howard said he has that in a display case. He did sign it but he never played the thing. Howard said he has a bunch of shitty things on display. Howard said he has a great poster of the Three Stooges on display and that means something to him. He started getting sentimental so he built a display case for the guitar. He said he made a whole display out of that and then someone told him that it was just a replica. He said they make it look old but it’s really a fake. It was his real signature and he did give it to him on the show… but it’s still not real.

Howard said that this psychiatry isn’t working out for him. He said that everyone goes horribly wrong when he listens to the guy. Howard said he was going to run over to the Discovery Channel and threaten to kill everyone after he got that picture from Ralph.

Howard said he was reading about that shooter from the Discovery Channel and how nutty he was. Howard said the guy was a world class fuckin’ nut. Howard said he looks like other nuts too. He said they all have a similar look.

Howard said the picture was up on the web site. He explained what was in the picture and how he had posed it to look more intellectual. Robin said they should put up the Ralph picture too. Howard asked Jason to get that one up fast too. Howard went into his email and forwarded that one to Jason. Howard said Ralph’s looks just as good as his.

Jason got Ralph’s picture and said that Howard’s display was better. That was about it. Howard said he had a decorator come in and help him with that. He said that was for his phony, baloney helmet. Howard said this woman came over and charged him to set that thing up.

Howard Stern said he was never really into the White Stripes but this Jack White guy is interesting. He said he saw that concert they were doing for Paul McCartney and Jack White did a song and he’s pretty good. He said he’s not sure how good their White Stripes music is but he was really good with ”Mother Nature’s Son.” Howard said he liked that whole concert. He said he’d love to have Paul McCartney come back in to talk about one album at a time.

Joey Boots of Howard Stern Show fame is filming this way hot chick’s ass, and this tough guy bicyclist (paradox), gets in Joey’s face and tells him to stop recording her ass. LOLZ.

If you know anything about the Howard Stern Show or Joey Boots, you know a) he gets off on altercations b) he’s actually gay, so the fact that this biker guy was paying attention to him, gets him off – doubley. Lolz. Amazing stuff.

Jillian Barberie: That’s cool. It’s a great show then? ‘Cause people talk about it. I haven’t seen it. I’m wondering if I’d like it now, because you like it. I’m curious.

Yeah, once you see the first couple of episodes, you’ll be addicted.
What’s their motto? …tan…?

Oh yeah yeah, their motto is Gym, Tan, Laundry.
That’s right, I saw that. That’s funny!

Admittedly, the one thing I get a kick out of is the fact that any hot teen, well I shouldn’t say teen, but any hot 20+ year old chick, they’re like probably superfans of it, so I enjoy the residual … like if they [the cast I am friends with] shout me out on twitter, then I get all excited just because of the chicks that they attract [might start following me on twitter].
That’s hilarious. I love it.

Because I had three of them give me birthday shout outs on twitter.
That’s so cool man. That’s great. That’s great, that’s just cool. That’s what I love about all of this social networking and all that. But I think certain people… I mean, there are bloggers out there, but then there are just cool people, and you’re both, so it’s like that’s why that stuff comes back and it works out for you. I believe that, ya know? I believe that, for sure.

Haha, I just – I just got it back from dry cleaning as we speak. Yes, very much, I think it had to go through four cleaning processes, no [j/k]. Actually, it was just a little bit, but I think for purposes of expanding the story, and exaggerating a little bit for entertainment purposes of course, it’s sort of taken on a life of its own. But yeah, it was crazy. It was a crazy night, no doubt about it. Jillian indulged, Jillian had fun. You know what’s funny, I was listening to Gary [Dell'Abate] talk and he’s like, “I think you know, when you’re pregnant and you’ve got like that year of not drinking, not doing anything,” [when you finally do drink you may get sick]. I’m like, “damn straight!” That’s exactly what it is, you just go crazy. You don’t know when to stop.

I think I’ve seen a friend with a picture of some “Moonshine” liquor, but I think it’s just more of a marketing thing, obviously it’s not gonna be real moonshine, but it was in a fashioned moonshine ‘jug’. I left a comment saying you need to talk to Johnny Knoxville and get you some of his real hillbilly relative’s moonshine.
For sure. I mean that’s the stuff that… I didn’t have any of it, I saw it and I was like what the hell? That’s like old school! It really was old school. Yeah and it wasn’t even that, that did it for  me. I was a total light weight. I just don’t do anything anymore, I don’t go out much, so I let loose, man. It was pretty crazy. But I saw them passing the jug around and I didn’t want any of it, and I’m the one that ends up getting wasted. Anyway…crazy.

How often do you party with celebrities that were just on your show, Good Day LA? And how many of them are celebrities where it’s the first time you’re meeting them and then hanging out with them?
I feel like I’ve been doing that show for fifteen years, and you meet so many people and you just connect with them, or you don’t, celebrity or not, but a lot of them have watched the show, so they grew up either really familiar with it or they’re big fans or whatever, so it’s kinda fun. But you know, most of the people that I’ve met have been through that show, or maybe the NFL or any of the outside work I’ve done and I’ve remained friends with them, ya know what I mean? I did a sitcom for a while and I became friends with some of the girls on there, and we still talk, and it’s really been sorta, like that. It’s never a contrived thing, you know when you make friends with somebody you just connect or you don’t. But mostly, I meet people through Daniella [Clarke], because she knows a ton of people, doing what she’s done for so long. But yeah, I can’t say that I’ve met anyone… well, obviously Pamela Anderson, I met her, and she gave me a gig which was really, really, cool. And we were friendly for a while. I’ve been friendly with Carmen Electra for a while, but you fall in and out of friendships. Ya know, you’re friends for a while and then you’re not, I haven’t talked to Carmen in forever. But I consider her a friend, yeah, I was invited to her wedding and she’s an amazing girl. Just a sweetheart of a girl. But yeah, you meet some cool people, really cool people. And then there’s that bullshit Hollywood friendship, that I’m just not into.

How often do you meet someone [famous, on your show] that week, then you’re hanging out with them, two days later?
Oh, very rarely. [For example,] I was introduced to Rose McGowan through Daniella. So it wasn’t like she came on the show, and then we went out. Just through Linda Ramone and Daniella, that I even know Rose [like that]. But some people you meet, like Linda Ramone is just a frigging character and has stories for days — she fascinates me. And she knows every amazing … like [going out] last night, every incredible guitarist was there, so it was Kurt Hammet from Metallica and John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers, and Billy [Zoom] from the band X, Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols, these incredible people at Linda’s birthday party. To me it’s music, it’s the soundtrack of your life, so it’s like looking around the room going, “damn!” But yeah, I think through Daniella, I’ve met the most interesting people. But I never meet people on Good Day LA, and we go out that week. I think that’s happened a couple of times, maybe, but yeah, I think it happened with Carmen [Electra]. Carmen came on and we were hanging out of a little bit but, it’s rare. Especially now when I have two kids and a husband… back when I was single, please! Yeah, I’d meet girls, Carmen was single, I was single, we partied like rock stars, we had a lot of fun.

How does a blogger / internet personality such as myself, go about getting himself a Canadian wife?
Yeah, Canadian girls are just… oh, man. I gotta tell you, my husband and I, we just got back from Canada, and he’s like, “It’s just different, people are fucking nice, and they’re just polite, and they’re cool, and they’re not affected.” And you know how in LA, everybody’s in the business, or everybody’s trying to get into the business, so if you’re a waiter, you’re really an actor, you’re never what you really are. You’re always wanting to be something else. And up there, they are what they are and they’re totally comfortable with it and I think there’s a real attractiveness about that. Yeah, you need to go up to Toronto or Montreal, they’ve got INCREDIBLE women up there. And just really, really, really down [to earth]. Just fun girls. I had a sister who was single. She just got married – she’s 29. How old are you? [editor: me, I'm 28]. See? Could have been perfect.

I’ve actually been to three Canadian cities! Hehe.
Oh you have? Let me guess, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal…

You got two of three! Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa.
*Gasp* The Nation’s capital! And what brought you to Ottawa?

That was a business trip in my previous [occupational] lifetime. Lolz. “Business development” trip, out there.
Well, Ottawa’s not Vancouver or Toronto, they’re just great cities and Montreal’s just… man, it’s great! I mean, I’ve been really fortunate to be working in Montreal, Miami, and then LA. So I never really struggled in the really small markets, that blow. I just always have been really, really, really fortunate in my career to work in these incredible cities. I mean Miami *sigh*, I’d move back there in a heartbeat.

When I was visiting Toronto, I had planned out my whole weekend, and the first night, I did more of the cliche, touristy thing, but by the second and third night, I was like, “I’m not down with this touristy bullshit.” Since I’m a people person, I told myself I’m going where the locals go. So, we went to the Drake Hotel, the rooftop, and we’re talking to some cougar chicks, and then I was trying to figure out where’s an after hours club, and the waiter was like, “yo, talk to that guy over there.” So I started talking to this guy and he ended up actually being a big Howard Stern fan, and then we started talking about Stern and at the same time he had his OWN after hours club, [which he invited us to]...
That’s hilarious, you’re right, it’s an amazing city. And people are great, people are just really cool up there. You know I was adopted and I grew up in a town called Burlington, and my whole birth family was in Toronto, so my mom and dad, put me up for adoption and they ended up getting married, three months later and had two girls, so I have two full sisters, and they grew up in the heart of the city, so they know it. Like my sister knows it like the back of her hand. And that’s where she has lived her whole life, and it’s sort of fun for me, that she’s like you, she knows all of the underground clubs, she works for the Toronto International Film Festival, her husband writes for avant garde magazines and publications and stuff – they’re that couple, which is really fun, ya know? Really fun.

LOLz, Larry King did not say “the non N-person,” when talking to Dr Laura in reference to …the dreaded n-word.

Howard Stern started the show talking about how Dr. Laura is taking herself off of radio. Howard said he’s calling for her immediate dismissal. He said that she’s going to stay on for about another year until her contract is up. He said he didn’t even know she was on satellite. Robin said she said she would never work on a network with Howard. Howard said that’s right. He said she did say that.

Howard said that Dr. Laura announced she’s leaving at the end of this year. He said that’s just not good enough. There’s a guy out there with a web site called StopDrLaura.com and he’s claiming victory. Howard said he’s going to take that victory for himself though. He said he thinks that they were trying to get her off because of her gay shit but, whatever. Howard said Laura is probably going somewhere else. He said she’s too big of a yenta.
