Haha, Broken Window theory is that if a place looks really nice, there won’t be crime there. If there are broken windows and fucked up-ness, it will harbor more incidents of crime. Now Union Square NYC is a nice area of Manhattan. There’s a Barnes and Noble and I think a Whole Foods. Granted, what I am pointing out is sort of thrown out the window considering the 99%-ers movement moved to Occupy Union Square from their original home of Wall St. — is the Occupy movement even still going on? If so, that explains your “broken windows.”
