Long story short GroupM and Universal Music have teamed up to fight piracy by creating an ad blacklist for pirate sites. Many of your fav hip-hop sites to be more specific. And by ad blacklist, it makes it so… let me quote:

“GroupM has developed and adopted a pioneering new digital media buying policy designed to prevent its clients’ ads from appearing on websites that distribute illegally obtained content.”

This is why the editor of Complex had a bitchfit the other day on twitter about Universal Music. I find the whole thing laughable cause I don’t spend my day and night posting mp3s like most of these folks.

So anyways, the list even includes 50 Cent’s own website which is operated by his weed-carriers, ThisIs50.com — which is funny. Not to mention, RapRadar which is run by Eminem’s weed-carriers. And Miss Info (a soy sauce-carrier), NecoleBitchie (a weave-carrier), Complex Magazine (which ironically runs an ad network of its own — which will greatly be affected by this), and last but not least, NahRight aka Byron Crawford’s Best Friend Forever (#sarcasm).
