Last Saturday night Ashley and I were at Jimmy Kimmel’s little party for Howard and Beth Stern. Beth has a dog book out [...]

Jimmy’s party was great because apart from the high quantity of big stars it was no different than his Sunday afternoon football parties. Lots of great food, friends, family and anyone displaying ego issues is mocked severely. Jimmy is a great host. He treats everyone the same which is probably why his show is so good and under rated. It was nice to see Howard smiling, relaxed, happy and just plain having fun. Beth is that woman who lights up every room she enters and bonds with everyone. They are so good for each other. I’d like to think Ashley and I are the same. There were a lot of famous couples there and they all were kind to Ashley and best of all, I remembered to introduce her to everyone. We’ve been listening to Howard talk about the party all week (he’s definitely a genius when it come to keeping things interesting and getting usually publicly shy people to reveal their true selves and then some). Here’s my highlight from that night…

Second of all, her Mom gave me the douche-chills when she discussed how they kept her in France on purpose until they had her warrant/legal troubles at bay. … Until Monday that is, the date of her court case.

“We did what we had to do to protect her. We did that for court purposes and the warrant purposes. To clear all that up before she hits American soil, which we have done, so she is now able to come. There was no music to face. We were dealing with issues to get her back safely — without an arrest and vacate the warrant. And that takes time, that doesn’t happen overnight. There are a lot of phone calls, a lot of people involved and a lot of decisions being made. So we did what we had to do to protect her…The judge is making an example out of her because of her celebrity status, which I don’t think is fair.” — (Radar Online)

Wale Cancels Performance at DC Teh Gay Pride Concert to Protect His Image

First of all, could Wale be on the down-low?

I went to high school with Wale, I dunno if he’s a fudge. He always wore headbands in high school and he loved going to the mall in Prince Georges County, that was all baby clothes and running shoes [stores]. I imagine teh ghey guys would def- be hanging out there. I think the only thing helping his argument as to not being gay is the fact that we had two friends in common, and my friends are straighter than a line of Lindsay Lohan’s nose candy.

Anyways, so he was signed to perform at a LGBT concert in his native Washington D.C. this weekend, but then had his booking agent pull out of the gig at the last minute when Wale figured out that he’d be performing for a bunch of teh ghey guys and how that’d hurt his image… as a bum-rapper.

”Basically we had an agreement, and we were very clear to the different parties and agents involved that this was an LGBT event,” Fowlkes says. ”What happened is that when the first blast went out that Wale was going to be at Black Pride he got cold feet, and his agent first said Wale wasn’t available because he had to do family stuff. Then we got another e-mail saying he didn’t know what kind of event this was when he agreed to it.”

According to an e-mail from Jesse Kirshbaum, a talent agent representing Wale… his client took the [gig] because it was a local Washington event, but that he was ”mislead.”

”All of the facts of the event were not disclosed with the offer and therefore, he feels mislead and regretfully declines.”
Fowlkes says that is not true. ”We said, ‘We told you up front, how could we hide that DC Black Pride is LGBT?”’ Fowlkes says. ”They just said he couldn’t do it. So it basically is homophobia rearing its ugly head once again, and on our 20th anniversary, it’s really sad.”
