Lil Wayne Documentary: “The Carter” – Review & (STREAM)

Here are my thoughts on this documentary. First of all, it was well made, and it’s entertaining. I like how they edited IN (i.e. didn’t edit out certain parts, i.e. interviews). More specifically almost about an hour in, there’s a funny instance where a fob (foreign) journalist is interviewing Lil Wayne and he asks him if his music has any jazz influence (as that is a common New Orleans sound.) Wayne says no. Then, the interviewer asks if he writes his music or does it on the spot at the studio from memory. Then, he asks Wayne if he’s into poetry. To this Wayne gets annoyed and reminds the guy that he’s interviewing a rapper, and that he’s not into poetry. (Isn’t rap: rhythm and poetry?). Then Wayne’s like: “This interview’s over” and basically tells the guy to STFU, and has his publicist get rid of the guy. Lolz. What a dick move.

There’s also a part where Wayne’s manager gets a random straggler kicked out of back stage which is funny, and there’s that footage of Wayne going off on the same manager on stage, and blasts him saying he can DIE, and then throws his leather jacket at him. Roffle.

Sigh, and lastly… this Lil Wayne Documentary plays out like a giant SYRUP SIZZURP commercial.
