Artie Lange Pleads Guilty to DUI

TMZ has learned comedian Artie Lange just pled guilty to one count driving under the influence of a habit-producing drug.

Cops say Artie — who was pulled over in Tom’s River, NJ on July 10 — had a prescribed sleeping pill in his system when he got behind the wheel.

Lange was fined $664, his driver’s license was revoked for seven months and he has to serve 12 hours in an intoxicated driver resource program.

Lange’s lawyer, MIchael Grasso, says Artie pled guilty because “If we would have taken it to trial the interest of the media would have outweighed the best interests of my client.”

You know what the funny part about this is, I actually went way out of my way, and I got a hold of yesterday’s O&A show, because I wanted to bring you guys this audio clip, but then I quickly realized, to find this sound bite, I’d have to actually listen to the O&A show. I tried scanning and skimming the audio, but I couldn’t find the part with him trashing Howard Stern, so I gave up and deleted it from my computer. I just wasn’t going to sit through a grueling O&A Dana White interview for a sound bite. So, whoever posted this, thank you!

The thing I find most interesting in this news piece is the actually local Tampa NBC newscasters. I like em. I am used to the not funny, uptight and douchie news people of DC. I like that they’re doing a story on Bubba the Love Sponge there in Tampa, and that she (the news woman), was actually willing to go on Bubba’s radio show as a guest. VERSES what you have in Washington DC, which is some misogynistic bullshit, where they have the cliche hot chick traffic woman that does fluff news pieces, all while web-camming behind the scenes, putting on her make-up in the morning. Sorry, Angie Goff, but I gotta call you out. You deserve to be in a better place than that. Like Tampa. Where you can wear booty shorts during your reports. ;)
