Artie Lange DUI Court Appearance Moved to September

TOMS RIVER — The attorney representing Artie Lange, the bad-boy radio and television comedian turned author, said the driving-while-intoxicated charge against his client has been scheduled for a pretrial conference Sept. 9 in Municipal Court
Lange, 41, was charged with driving under the influence following a motor vehicle crash at Silver Bay and Brand avenues in the Silverton section on the afternoon of July 10. Lange appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant, police said.
Police said Lange was cooperative and provided them with a urine sample at their request following the crash. Lange passed the Alcotest administered after the crash.
He was originally scheduled to appear in court Wednesday but that date was rescheduled, said Lange’s attorney, Michael A. Grasso of Freehold.
Is Grasso a Jewish name, ’cause Artie will be okay, long as he has a Jewish lawyer.
