KFC Chicken Riots Due To Oprah Coupon

Here are some horror stories today about the KFC coupon deal:

I just returned from my lunch break hoping to use the attached coupon to score some free KFC grilled chicken at the mid town location 47 E. 42nd Street. Well I guess around 200 people also had the same idea with coupons in hand.
When I finally gave up (after 30 minutes of aguing with other customers) a small RIOT started going on outside the store with people screaming at the manager while he wont let them use their free KFC coupons (issued by OPRAH)

Unfortunately for those who worked on or near 42nd St., in NYC are not able to use the coupons. A KFC employee was literally screaming in front of the KFC stating, “NO MORE COUPONS” and turned people away. Thanks for nothing!!!!

And

If the coupon doesn’t print, consider it a blessing! the portchester, NY store sort of honored a few before noon (2 wings, mash & no biscuit) and then told the remaining coupon holders (that were shunned into a separate line) that the chicken was gone. I eat at this KFC regularly and was treated like a vagrant because I had a coupon; that they issued!

And

well we went to kfc in brooklyn center off brooklyn blvd and they also said that if any of us had the same numbers they weren’t going to take them. everyone’s coupons end with 1234′so we went to another one got served went back and talked with the 1st place.they were only serving one per car.

Damn I am getting hungry. Anger does that to me.

    Wow, this is crazy. I actually used a coupon yesterday. The first KFC I went to wasn’t participating in the promotion. The next one I went to was participating and there were a lot of people there with coupons in hand, but not nearly as many as there were when the food chain was giving away free grilled chicken with no coupon (the line was literally out the door and on the sidewalk.

    BTW, my friend had a great idea, print some out and give them to the homeless. The fact that you need a computer, internet access and a computer makes it harder for the people who need it most to get it.

    I had a bad experience and Tallahassee, Florida, the service was awful and they cut the chicken half, they gave me a tablespoon of potatoes and the same with the cole slaw but Oprah’s paying for the whole meal. KFC dont ever have to worry about me!

    what everyone should realize is that there was no warning on these coupons. oprah hooked everyone up all right, but didn’t include kfc in early enough to get the stores overstocked and ready. no warning just a bunch of loud, rude people demanding what they wanted the free meal to be not what it said it was going to be. they were told at the door 55 minute wait ( the stupid oven the grill is cooked in only holds 5 trays of chicken at a time-20 min. to cook we are open 12 hours that is 60 full cooks a day times 5 trays with 16 pieces on each tray. there is no way to keep up. the coupons were supposed to be printed off the internet, but you have people that want to play the game and make copies….guess what that makes the chicken run out faster. the employees in the stores were doing the best they could with a situation they had no control over and are being paid minimum wageto handle. is it fair to have people that are getting something for free and cheating by making extra copies screaming in employees faces and showing their asses and complaining about a wait? the coupons are good until the 19th but everyone thought they would outsmart the system. if you should be pissed at anyone it should be oprah and the corp people who set this up without making sure they knew what they were able to accomplish first… quit bitching you didn’t lose anything you paid for it was free and if you hadn’t been complaining for the last hour in line you could have went to the store bought it and cooked it yourself.
