Exhibit A: Eminem- Crack A Bottle ft. Dr.Dre & 50 Cent

You know, when I first heard Em’s Crack a Bottle – something about it sounded familiar. It wasn’t however until my pal EM not inem but -ily, told me that Crack a Bottle uses a sample from Wu-Tang’s – Think differently music: Wu-Tang meets the indie culture album. Wikipedia explains, this album includes collaborated tracks by Wu-Tang members, Wu-Tang affiliates, and various other underground Hip-Hop artists – the latter being Aes Rock and Del. More specifically: Del Tha Funkee Homosapien feat. Aesop Rock – Preservation. Do you think this means that whoever produced the Preservation track sample (RZA – most likely), is in for a nice check from Interscope? Check it out for yourself…

Update: Weiss explains – “It’s from an old Mike Brant record. They do flip it slightly differently, but it’s definitely the same sample. I wrote about this actually in my post on the Em song’s lameness.”
One thing I never claim to do as well as Weiss is dissect music. Preservation and Mike Brant sample after the jump.
