Artie Lange Receives First Royalty Check For Too Fat To Fish: 100K

Lisa G said that she has good news about Artie’s book. Ronnie said that everything with her is about Artie. He said that it’s either Howard or Artie. That’s the only news she does. Lisa said that Ronnie is just upset that he’s not a news story. Ronnie said that she has issues and he doesn’t want to talk about that stuff on the air. Ronnie is upset about some other things that she’s done.

Lisa said that Artie’s book is still on the NY Times Best seller list. She said that Artie got a royalty check the other day. Artie said he didn’t want to say how much it was for though. Artie said that he doesn’t want to just blurt it out because he knows he’ll get phone calls from people begging him for money.

Artie then blurted out that it was a hundred grand. He said that was the best thing in the world. He said that he can’t thank Howard enough for letting him come on the show and push that stuff. Howard said that he doesn’t’ have to thank him for that. Artie said he gets emotional about that with Howard.

Howard said hat Dan the Song Parody Man was on the phone asking if he still has to pay him. Howard said that Dan predicted a windfall of money but he didn’t know that it was going to be Artie that got the windfall.

Artie said that there are people out there who think that they don’t have to pay him back when he gets money like that. He said that they have no shame at all.

Artie said that his mother still gets his checks and he’s in the middle of changing all of that around. He said he wanted to give his sister something nice and special so he asked her what she needed. He said his mother told him to just give her money. Artie said he wanted to give her something really nice but he had to ask his mother to write the check for him.

Howard asked Artie why he can’t write his own check. Artie said he doesn’t know. Howard said that he’s afraid that he’s going to spend it all. Artie said that he’s been very conservative with his money and his mother takes very good care of it.

Howard said that if Artie takes care of his own money, he doesn’t think that he’d ever do heroin again. Artie said that he opened an account for gambling right across the street from his apartment and he was screwing it up within months.

Lisa said that Artie’s second book is due out in the fall of 2010 and the paperback of ”Too Fat To Fish” will be out this fall.
