Sun Lounge DC

Apparently a spot next to 1223 in DC, (formerly Lucky Bar) has been replaced with Sun Lounge DC. As an aside, I don’t have anything against replacing the armpit that was lucky bar with Sun Lounge – as opposed to 1223, which is also an armpit that was sprayed over with Brut musk). I have no idea the deal behind this place (as I’ve yet to go), but there is a dress code, it opens at 10pm, the cover is 10$, and is only open of Fridays.

It also says, “aka Pasara Thai Restaurant,” which to me means that the Sun Lounge is just a cute name for their bar on Friday nights. I will be checking this spot out, so come back shorty for my full review and 2-cents. If anyone has been to DC, you know it’s very hit or miss, and usually miss. If this spot proves to be a limited exception to the rule, I will let ya know, otherwise I will probably flame-post the place. $ FIREEE!

UPDATED/REVIEW:
If I was to write a serious ‘club’ ‘review’, the first thing that I would bring up is the level of “Douche Chills” one gets at the door, trying to get in. In other words more ball busting, more strict, more assholey, more douchey=greater the douche chill level. If ‘The Park’ is the gold standard in douchey-ness (10/10) (by gold standard I mean it sucks the most), then this place is say a 7/10 in doucheyness.

Next – the bartenders… the bartenders here were interesting. By interesting I mean one sucked and one sucked less. I love how if you open up a tab with one, you can’t get a drink at the other bartender, who stands 5 feet away. Shrug. The Asian bartender though was pretty cool, I’d say go to her. Shrug.

The people – the crowd this place attracted was different than I am used to seeing in DC. I am usually stuck in the middle of a bunch of Punjabis or frat guys or brothers not from another mother. This place was <insert cute but racial slur for an Asian person> city. It was filled with basically a bunch of wanna-be Linkin Park looking azn cats. I always get tripped out when I see an Asian chick with full blonde hair. That’s real natural looking. And of course, there’s the phenomenon of the cutest looking girl there with the douchey’st acting guy ever, (obvs she is a bubblehead). Other phenomenon observed: I love chicks that wear ‘band’ shirts, but when you ask them about it, they obvs have no fucking clue what their shirt is referencing, lol. Sigh, Asians. Last phenomenon observed: the breakdancing… ever notice breakdancing is done by three select groups: black guys in hipster shirts (I <3 ME), azn guys with small penises, and butterfaced chicks that pseudo-breakdance (like half-assed, on the fringe of the dance floor).

Boggle. Drinks are pretty expensive, but what do you expect. And lastly, the music played was def. good though. But the DJ was obvs being cute playing tracks that might ‘wow’ the avg. cat, but that I was bumping last month.

It’s basically an Asian spot, and the only white girls there were fat ones.

I’d still rather go there however over the places on my shit-list: The Park, UltraBar, any bar in Bethesda, MD.
And also note I was not in attendance with any members of the shabooty dynasty, so that might have taken away from the experience.
