American Gladiators Review

I threw on, (and by threw on, I mean I woke up from a power-nap, had my cable internet down, so I had to check if the cable tv was working, and stumbled upon AG and was too lazy to change the channel). American Gladiators that is – which aired tonight on NBC.

What is there to say? It’s pretty much a rehash of the old goodness, but I found it boring (though, I did watch the last 30minutes). Hulk Hogan’s a good host, but you can’t help but see the pain in his eyes from his divorce bullshit, plus he’s all emo-ed out in all black wardrobe. Tatiana Ali er I mean Laila Ali, was an interesting co-host, and by interesting I mean, she towered over both of the chick contenders, and looked even huger with her empire top. That’s a big bitch. Is she preggers? I think they need to have her ass as a gladiator and not as a co-host.
This happened to be a “finale,” but the eliminator couldn’t have been more anti-climactic (esp. the mens). The chick’s eliminator was half-decent though, aside from the douchey husbands of the contestants taking off their shirts and jumping into the water. Please give the families less camera time (unless a guy is dating a chick way out of his league). I dunno – I think this show is a swing and a MISS. There’s nothing compelling brought to the table – esp from a reality tv perspective. It’s just a rehash of the old show with higher production value, and thrown onto prime-time television. Plus, the gladiator Titan has hair-plugs, by the way (allegedly).
