I had to come back to a comment about soulja boy being on nas level and he is what hip hop is all about. First off soulja boy is not a lyricist in any shape of form. First off.. no one is hating on soulja boy. They are just speaking the truth about his talent. Its garbage in any era.. This shyt reminds me when everyone was on ja rules wack shit and everyone was jocking that wannabe bullshit.

Compare the two rappers and its pathetic. This is just an example of how far down hip hop has gone.. from rapping about a clear urban description of life as a shorty in this world to superbowl on hoes and superman and robo-cop without a description of where your going with your lyrical hook in the song.. thats whack yall for realz..

Well Kriss Kross had a theme that was catchy because of its name went alone with the way they wore there clothes and they had established dances that went along with hip hop in general. They were kids also but they had themes to their songs and it wasnt about just yelling about nothing.

But see its funny how underground hip hop is more on a lyrical foundation then commercial hip hop. And I believe that there is something to that. The industry doesnt care about lyrics unless your already established. So they come up with this soulja boy bullshit and establish this young man with a made up dance to attract kids in elementary school and call it hip hop when your not even displaying anything. Lets just give theses kids a beat and put them on stage and this is the new version of what the industry wants. Some watered down version. that describes a poetic vibe without actually words. Just an instrumental that speaks about nothing. Thats what the industry is doing with soulja boy. Because these kids are not learning about the fundamentals of hip hop. They are not being shown the political and cultural vibe of hip hop. They are being taught about a beat and with a hook and call that shit a song. Thats whats whack.. and im glad that Ice -T called this kid out. Only because hip hop is a culture. Its not about some dance or a shout out to superman and wonderwoman you feel me.

I would like to say that I completely agree with Ice T. The kids lyrics are garbage and its has nothing to do with him being new school. For this kid to say that he is hotter then jay-z is like saying I can write lyrics without a pad and pen. Because the industry is taking these kids and giving them no foundation to grow on. Being 17 years old isnt an excuse for writing garbage on the mic. Take Shyheim who has an abundance of knowledge on the mic at a young age. Compare that to soulja boy is like comparing money to a piece of cardboard. This is not a rap war. This is just someone established in the game wanting hip hop back. How do you think Pac would respond to this kid if he was alive??? Would he give this kid praise over his songs or be real with him?

Soulja boy is a new level of hip hop. We need to have something for the new generation to relate to because we didn’t grow up when Ice-t did. No disrespect to Ice-t or anything. I mean Soulja boy maybe a no Nas but he is new school. I think all this beef needs to stop between rappers. Can’t they just make money and do positive stuff for their co-rappers?
