Hi I am a alcoholic and have been sober for twenty years, July3,1989 and I must say something.First God bless Doctor Pinsky an the young lady who opens her heart and doors to people in need again God bless.My comment is I have been sober for ths long I have been around people who were in need of help but were not ready,but for the first time in my years of drinking and drugging I felt so wound up watchng Stephen Adler That I was ready for a drink and a drug of any kind.That scared me too much, I am always one step away from
death.I will always be an alcoholic forever and I am grateful to Mr. Adler because he is the poster child for anyone that is an alcoholic or abuser of anything on this planet.I taped it to show my grandchildren so they can see how fun drugs are and that he had a geat setup living etc.. but is losing all to a drug or a drink.I try to keep in my own mind in check that because I lived in a nice home had a job,boat lakehouse and a great life but I am no better or worse than the homeless addict sleeping in a cardboard condo.I could lose it all to my addictive behavior.Tell steve and all the sober living crew,stay strong its not easy but it works keep coming back it works.I have to say again to the young lady don’t cry hun you did the right thing, the tears are from seeing someone that made you see where you have been or could be but for the grace of God.Take care and thank you Dr. Pinsky I made bobos in writing this spelling ect…. but I hope you get my meaning Memaw Teresa.One more thing I have been married for 38 years and we both made mistakes but if it is meant to be the love grows with you.
